KZN boasts a handful at jukskei nationals

The championships ran from April 1 to 6 in Kroonstad, and included tough challengers from across South Africa, plus some from Namibia and even America.

DUNDEE – Five KwaZulu-Natal teams attended the South African Senior Jukskei Championships.

This included a number of competitors from Newcastle, Dundee and Vryheid.

The championships ran from April 1 to 6 in Kroonstad, and included tough challengers from across South Africa, plus some from Namibia and even America.

First played was the National Doubles Championships.

At the culmination of this competition, the competitors took on the challenge of the International Horseshoe Championships.

Annatjie van der Merwe from KZN won a silver medal in her division.

Following the official tournament opening on Sunday, Monday was down to business ahead of the announcement of the provincial teams.

KZN joined Mpumalanga and Limpopo in the Northeast Group.

Albert Stoop of Richards Bay and Dons Vorster of Vryheid were selected for the Senior Men’s team, while Jaco Vorster of Vryheid was included in the Junior Men’s team.
