Rampant Bulldogs outfit crushes Greytown
The Bulldog forwards took complete control of the game from the kick-off, dominating all aspects of the game, especially at scrum time where they simply bullied Greytown into submission
This past Friday evening, the Clover Leaf sponsored Bulldogs played Greytown Rugby Club.
The Bulldogs won this game comfortably by 48 points to seven.
The Bulldog forwards took complete control of the game from the kick-off, dominating all aspects of the game, especially at scrum time where they simply bullied Greytown into submission. Captain Izak Boshoff was in absolute rampant mood, scoring four tries, running like a wild buffalo with ball in hand and smashing Greytown with big tackles. They will remember him for years to come. Pieter Cohen and Karel van Rooyen also contributed hugely to the forwards’ dominance.
Try scorers were Izak Boshoff (x4), Jannie v/d Linde, Marno Fourie, Baz Wessels and Eythan van Tonder.
‘Man of the match’ for the forwards was Izak Boshoff and for the backs Marno Fourie. Duran Law converted four tries. The Clover Leaf Bulldogs out-scored Greytown by eight tries to one.
The Bulldogs have lost the services of Cassie Human, who injured his knee and needs an operation. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Special mention to the following people who contributed so much to this winning team’s success. Gerrie Grobler for tractors and mowers, Keith Don-Wauchope, Linda Boshoff who organises everything and makes sure everything runs like a good Swiss watch, Barbara Malan and Coenie Rautenbach behind the bar, coaches Flippie Fourie and Lennert Buitendach, team manager Deon van Wyk, Angela Boardman who strapped players before the game and did running repairs during the game. Thank you to all the spectators who took time out to come and support this awesome side. It was really great to see so many people there cheering the boys on. I have absolutely no doubt that it inspired them to dig deeper.
