The 2017 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon was held in Cape Town on Saturday. Thousands of athletes participated in this scenic and much-anticipated marathon.

Runners from Forderville Athletic Club travelled to the Mother City to line up at the start on Saturday morning. Estcourt was represented by Amri Sewnun and Nishal Mahadow for 56km ultra marathon while Nisha Sewnun and Anitha Jai Jai represented the club in the 21.1km half marathon.

The wind picked up the night before and on race day it was heavy on Chapmans Peak. There were over 13 000 runners for the ultra marathon.

The atmosphere was awesome because of the support from the huge crowd on the route and at the end. Nishal came in on seven hour bus, which comprised of over 70 runners.

This bus ran throughout the marathon together. The athletes that ran the 21.1km race had a huge crowd of runners of more than 15 000.
