Small district shines with another win

Sunday is another Academy to be held at The Nest, so we do hope to see more members on the greens doing the disciplines

“Whoop, whoop” – our small Midlands District is really shining at the moment with another win thanks to the Ladies’ Open Fours, who have just gotten back from Volksrust with another trophy.

It is also a feather in the cap for Klipbank, as the four ladies are all members.

Congratulations to Barbara Baleri, Liefie Oosthuizen, Shenaaz Singh and Des Maartens.

Zululand came second and Northerns third.

Saturday afternoon saw a few bowlers playing against the wind and having a lovely fun-filled few hours.

You could tell that most of the ladies were away, as all the men kept going on about “must be finished by four ‘o clock” so they could watch some sport called rugby. I mean, really!

This Friday, being a holiday, our competition secretary decided we should all get up early and be on the bowling green to play Club Mixed Pairs, so that is what we will be doing.

Saturday will be just normal Tabs-In. Sunday is another Academy to be held at The Nest, so we do hope to see more members on the greens doing the disciplines.

On Monday, Barbara Baleri and Jimmy Nel will be travelling to Johannesburg to play in the National Mixed Pairs Tournament, so please join me in wishing them all the best, great bowls and safe travels.

This is a little late, but please have Ian Charlton in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers from major surgery. Hurry and get well, Ian, because we miss you on the greens.

“See You On The Greens!”
