SPORTS: Golfers remain on the ball in a challenging competition

The Northern KwaZulu-Natal Ladies Hockey Better Ball Competition took place at the Newcastle Golf Club last Saturday, June 17.

Despite the mighty winds that picked up during the course of the day, enthusiastic golfers made their way around the 18 holes.

In the Men’s Division, Ronnie Acker and Deon Pfeil claimed the first spot, followed closely by Renier Terblanche and Lucas Oosthuizen.

Hansie Alberts and Sypie Ras came in third, with Ram Mewa and Yunus Karrim in fourth place.

Erika van Staden and Lynette Lotriet were the top golfers in the Women’s Division.

Second place went to Lesley van der Vaart and Stella van Zyl.
