Colenso team take top spot on their own super greens
Speaking to some of the bowlers, they all had good things to say about the day

Last Saturday saw the Midlands AGM being held at Klipbank in the morning.
Then, in the afternoon, the first semi-final of the Club Mixed Pairs was played.
The team to go through to the finals is Rodney Perrin and Shenaaz Singh, after they beat Kees Hillenaar and Veronica Malan.
The other semi-final sees Barbara Baleri and Neal Singh going up against Rod and Emma van Deventer.
This will be played when all the bowlers are available.
While the semi-final was being played, the rest of the members played the usual Tabs-In.
Last Sunday saw many Klipbank members travel to Colenso to play in the Piet Evertse Competition. Speaking to some of the bowlers, they all had good things to say about this day.
Colenso has apparently worked extremely hard on their greens and the effort has paid off; the greens were super to play on. It was good then to find out that a Colenso team won the competition – well done to Hennie de Beer and his team.
Barbara Baleri and her team from Pietermaritzburg came second, while good old Klipbank’s Bob Corringham, Gavin Moore and Des Maartens came third.
The winner of the superb raffle was a Klipbank member, Kees Hillenaar. Well done to everyone!
July birthday babies are: Magriet Coetzee, Graham Elworthy, Grace Mitchell, Jimmy Nel and Ian Charlton.
This is also a big month for Eric Robinson, who I am happy to say is making steady progress and comes to visit us occasionally at the bowling green. It is Eric’s birthday on July 31, but on July 1, Eric and Liz celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. What can you say but well done and hearty congratulations! (Liz, your medal must be big!)
