Nine Bloodstock birds make it into the top 17

Tiekie Crouse clocked the winning pigeon at 11:42

On Saturday, the open pigeons were released from Middelburg (297km) and Bloemfontein (360km). Both races were slow because of head winds.

From Middelburg, seven birds arrived together, with Eric Holder having four of them.

Tiekie Crouse clocked the winning pigeon at 11:42. This pigeon flew an average speed of 70km/h.

From Bloemfontein, five pigeons arrived together, with Jimmy Hanlon beating Lewis Hay by 24 seconds. These pigeons flew at an average speed of 71km/h.

Well done to Pat Emslie from Bloodstock Lofts who had nine pigeons in the top 17.

Middelburg: Tiekie Crouse 1,10,12,21,23,24,28,29; Mark Clayton 2,9,15,16; Lewis Hay 3,11,14,18; Eric Holder 4,5,6,7,13,20,22,26; Paul Manuel 8,17,19,25,27,30.

Bloemfontein: Jimmy Hanlon 1,10,19; Lewis Hay 2,13,25,28,29; Bloodstock Lofts 3,4,6,8,9,11,14,16,17; Paul Manuel 5,15,18; Mark Clayton 7,20,21,30; Tiekie Crouse 12,22,23,24,26,27.

This coming weekend, the yearling races are taking place from Senekal and Standerton
