Dundee league golfers demolish Kilbarchan

A whitewash for the opposition...

The Dundee Country Club hosted the fourth round fixtures of the N. KZN Men’s golf league on Sunday, and it was the Dundee “B2” team of Barry Sandy, Pierre Booysen, Kevin Donaldson and Wynand Ackerman who had every reason to celebrate with a few “cold ones” after the game as they demolished Kilbarchan by whitewashing them 12-0, the first ‘wash’ achieved by a team in the B division for almost three years.
The Dundee “B1” team were not so fortunate in their game against Vryheid as they went down 4-8, with Cyril Mkhwanazi contributing towards all of his team’s points as he enjoyed a comfortable 5/4 victory in his singles match and also won his foursomes 6/4 with partner Clement Sithole.
Saturday’s 4 BBBS club competition attracted a field of 34 players with Lorien De Wit and Dave Donaldson managing to sneak home by one point ahead of Jo Khumalo and Cyril Mkhwanazi when scoring 45 points.
The pairing of Rob Streak and Debbie Catlett finished third after winning the count out on 43 points.
There was only one 2 Club achieved on the day, and what an incredible achievement by Henk Booysen when holing out his second shot on the par four 18th hole.
The format for this Saturday’s club competition will be an I.P.S. event.

The B League team is currently on a golfing roll: Pierre Booysen, Wynand Ackerman, Barry Sandy and Kevin Donaldson.
