Local golfers come out in support of Eventide Home
The novelty prizes for nearest the pin on the short par 3's went to: Debbie Catlett on the 4th, Cyril Mkhwanazi on the 8th, Petros Mhlungu on the 12th and Robert Khumalo on the 16th hole.
On Saturday the Rotary Club held their charity golf day in aid of Eventide Homes at Dundee Country Club, and it was wonderful to see, for the first time in almost two months, sixty golfers participating on a Saturday competition.
Well done to all the Rotarians who put in a lot of work to make the day a success which included a scrumptious spit-braai supper, and thanks to the golfers for coming out to support a worthy cause and enjoy a great day of golf.
Winning the 4 BBBS event on 46 points was the regular local pairing of Mandla Mthethwa and Clement Chawanda. There was a host of players who finished on 44 points, and winning the count out to claim second place were the Tiley brothers, Damien and Dale, ahead of the Donaldson brothers, Carl and Keagan.

This coming Saturday, August 5, is the club’s Monthly Mug Medal competition for August. The club has three golf days lined up for next week, Wednesday, August 9, being a public holiday will see Oom Okies se Bokkies fun day, a fundraiser for the Ladies Inter-Club.
Friday, August 11, is the D.C.C. Coal Mining Golf Day and local businesses are urged to enter a team of four players at a cost of R1 400 per team, and there will be a shotgun start at 1pm.

On Saturday, August 12, the club will be hosting the annual Doctors Golf Day, an I.P.S. competition with great prizes on offer and entry fee is R160 per player. Players are requested to contact The Pro Shop on 034 218 1000 to make their booking.
