Ladysmith man slots the balls into the pockets

Born in Ladysmith and still living here, he has made many friends who share this passion

43-year-old Pravesh Sewcharan can’t get enough of playing pool.

Having played the game for many years, Pravesh says it never loses its attraction.

With cue in hand, he works out all the angles and slots the balls into the pockets on his way to finally sinking the black ball and winning the match.

Born in Ladysmith and still living here, he has made many friends who share this passion. Pravesh’s other hobbies include watching soccer and cricket.

He tells the Ladysmith Gazette that he particularly enjoys it when his friends come over to visit and they “rack ‘em up” for a few games. “Playing pool makes for great socialising and chatting,” he enthuses.

He laughs as he thinks about the myriad reactions people have when they lose a game. “Some get really angry, while others are just a bit disappointed. It’s all in good spirits though. The best part is that I make new friends and it’s also a way of releasing stress,” explains Pravesh.
