Cricket action is back and already teams are showing that they mean business.
Six teams will be contesting the Sunday 50 Over League while seven teams will be contesting the T20 Night League and the Saturday 30 Over League.
T20 Night League:Â
NDH Predators vs Farmers
Newcomers, NDH Predators recently took on Farmers in their first game. Predators won the toss and elected to bat.
Sadly their debut didn’t get off to a dream start and they were restricted to 62 for 9.
Walter top scored with 14 for Predators while Cameron finished as the best bowler for Farmers with figures of 3 for 13. Farmers chased down the score in under 5 overs without losing a wicket with Gert and Bjorn both unbeaten on 27.
Tigers vs Paki Lions
The points were shared between Tigers and Paki Lions due to a waterlogged pitch.
Saturday 30 Over League
The rain also affected Saturday games, with many rained out.
All teams shared the points.
Tigers vs NDH Predators
Tigers batted first and made a whopping 269/5 from their 30 overs.
Vernen was in fine form, scoring 113. His knock consisted of 21 fours and 1 six. Udeshen chipped in with 37 not out.
Keshay took 3/39 and Brenton took 1/39 for Predators.
In reply, they were bowled out for only 76. Zaheer top scored with 16 and Deresh made 14.
Joey was destructive with the ball taking 5/10, while Vasagren took 2/2 as Tigers ripped through the Predators, winning by 193 runs.
Sunday 50 Over League:
Brothers United vs Ace Eagles
Defending Champions Ace Eagles batted first and were bowled out for 96.
Zaheer top scored with 21. Basheer took 4 wickets and Yeye took 3 wickets for Brothers.
Ace though didn’t give up without a fight and their powerful bowling attack was able to defend the score.
Yusheer took 4 wickets and Ashraf took 3 wickets as Brothers United were bowled out for 85.
Shakiel top scored with 33 but it wasn’t enough to claim victory for Brothers.
