Sport enthusiasts take up the Wagendrift Challenge
Runners, cyclists and swimmers from across the country converged at the Bushmans Boating Club at Wagendrift Dam to compete
Wagendrift Dam was awash with activity on Sunday when the annual Wagendrift Challenge was hosted in perfect weather.
Runners, cyclists and swimmers from across the country converged at the Bushmans Boating Club at Wagendrift Dam to compete.

With high spirits, a warm breeze and cold waters, the participants shifted a gear and the competition was intense.
The Wagendrift Challenge was made up of three categories – a biathlon consisting of a 1km swim and a 5km run (solo or teams of two); the triathlon, which had participants competing in a 1km swim, 5km run and then the 10km MTB ride.
There was also a 20km MTB ride and 20km trail run. Organisers, the Estcourt Round Table 74 hailed the day a success, saying that they received positive feedback. A word of thanks goes to the sponsors and helpers.
