Fast times for February Time Trialists
On Wednesday, February 14, the Love Time Trials will take place.
Ladies 2km Walk:
Thembi Mthabela and Queen Sisibi dead-heated for first place in a time of 18m30s while Luzanne van der Mescht came in at 23m28s.
Ladies 3km Walk: Joyce Shabalala and Alixe Fraser both crossed the line in 33m50s.
Ladies 4km Jog/Walk: Kholiwe Buthelezi – 29m55s edged out Makhosi Qwabe – 30m22s.
Ladies 8km Run: Thobeka Mbatha completed in a time of 41m26s.
Men 4km Run:
Siya Msomi – 15m35s led home the chasing pack of Philemon Zondi – 16m05s, Sphephelo Ntshingila 18m45s, Duma Zwelihle – 19m07s and Thobani Zwane – 19m12s. Banele Sithebe – 19:14 edged out Musa Nzuzu – 19m15s by one second while Reggie Nkosi – 21m09s brought up the rear.
Men 8km Run:
A big field also contested the event with Bongani Sabelo – 29m00s finishing first ahead of Lindani Sangweni – 31m28s, Fortune Ngcobo 33m03s, Sakhile Mbatha – 33m48s and Petros Mavuso – 33m55s.
Sabatha Ndlovu finished in a time of 35m00s ahead of Fanie Mthembu – 36m20s, Khethokuhle Mchunu 36m30s, Andile Nkosi – 39m00s, Sikhumbuso Moloi – 42m08s and Pat Sibisi – 42m08s. Siphiwe Malinga brought up the rear in a time of 45m05s.
PLEASE NOTE: On Wednesday, February 14, the Love Time Trials will take place. Registration starts at 4:45pm and the Time Trials start at 5:30pm. Cost is R20 per person with each finisher receiving a token. This is the first of four special time trials for the year.
