Ahoy me Maties… bowls club goes to sea

This past Saturday it was all about pirates, sailors and tarts as 14 teams took to the greens to play in the Glendee Yacht Club’s fun bowls day.
It was a very successful day filled with loads of fun, laughter and dress up.
Gregalina, aka “Greg the tart”, took the honours of the best dressed of the day with his outfit causing much amusement. There always has to be a winner and a loser though, with the stone last going to team Black Beard, third was BB Pirates, second The Sharks and the winners of the day, winning all three of their games, were the Vreken Vier consisting of Hans and Louisa Vreken, Lyn Dippenaar and Tewie Wessels. Now a fun day would not be possible without the support of sponsors.

FedAuto Bowls Business League
Rounds six and seven of the FedAuto Bowls Business League was played this last Thursday evening. It was a stunning autumn evening and the atmosphere was very festive. Once again Sarel Cilliers made a surge for the top spot and are now equal on points with Langfontein just 10 shots separating the two. Harcourts have dropped down to third place after being second last week.
The leaderboard as follows: Langfontein 12 + 33, Sarel Cilliers 12 + 23, Harcourts 11 + 15, No Name Brand 10 + 18.
The club will be selling food again this Thursday evening however braai fires will be lit for those wanting to braai.
Pick n Pay Sponsored Day
The club wishes the members that will be travelling to Vryheid this Saturday to take part in the Pick n Pay Sponsored Day safe travels and good bowling.
