Dundee bowlers dominate at Newcastle sponsored day
There was quite a bit of moving and shaking this past Thursday, as far as the leader board of the Round Table Winter Knights Business League is concerned.
FedAuto Sponsored Day, Newcastle: Five Dundee teams travelled to Newcastle on Saturday, in what turned out to be a fantastic autumn day for the locals. A total of three games were played: two games of 15 ends and one game of 12 ends. After the three games were completed, it was time to tally the scores and determine the winners. Dundee teams took the first five spots, with Rita and team in first place, and Dougie’s team in second place.
Nationals 2019: Congratulations to Nan Roos and duel member, Noela Dreyer, who took the silver medal in the National Pairs Competition this last Saturday in Durban. You have both made the club extremely proud!
Inter Zone: The Inter Zone tournament takes place in Newcastle this coming weekend. Safe travels and good bowling to all members who have been selected to play.
Round Table Winter Knights Business League: There was quite a bit of moving and shaking this past Thursday, as far as the leader board is concerned. On May 29, the last round will see the winner of Section 1 play the winner of Section 2 and so forth, and it promises to be an exciting evening.
The leader board is as follows: Section 1: Langfontein 12 +34; Cherrybums 10 +58; Charles Wade 10 +53. Section 2: Joff’s Skid Marks 11 +24; Tri-Star 8 +20; The Hesoms 8 +18.
Please remember the beneficiaries who benefit from this campaign, namely the SPCA, NG Kerk Glencoe, Pro Nobis, Dundee Adult Centre and Dundee Crisis Centre. Please bring an item of clothing, canned food, pet food, a blanket, which will be distributed to the beneficiaries at the end of the league. Food is also on sale on the league nights – bring along your friends and family and enjoy the evening together.
