The sun sets for avid athletes

With the beginning to set, the athletes set off on a route along the D96 and back again, ending off in the parking area of Newcastle Corner.

Runners laced up their shoes for Newcastle Corner’s annual Sunset Fun Run on Workers’ Day (May 1).

Marketing Manger for the mall, Marianka Knox said just over 200 entries were received for the race, which was split into distances of four and eight kilometres.

The first 200 finishers received a free burger and refreshing drink.

With the beginning to set, the athletes set off on a route along the D96 and back again, ending off in the parking area of Newcastle Corner.

They were also treated to live entertainment from local artists.

Knox thanked the community for its continued support, as well as the Harriers Club and the artists who performed.
