Theo bags the biggest bass at Bivane Bass Challenge

"What an honour to have a Vryheid Luremasters club member winning the Bivane Bass Challenge. Theo, well done and well deserved."

On May 25 and 26, Vryheid Luremasters hosted its 15th annual Bivane Bass Challenge.

Once again, this proved to be a popular event among the fishing community, and the club extends its thanks to friends and competitors for their continued support.

“Thank you to all our new fishing friends. We hope to see you again!”

The heaviest bag prize went to Team Venom: Shane Estran and Jonathan Kirk.

On Friday night, after tents were pitched and everyone settled in, a captains meeting was held, followed by the complimentary sheep on the spit and drinks. Laughter and happiness were abundant.

“What a privilege to be part of such a friendly gathering, at such a beautiful venue. Thank you, Bivane Dam for the use of your amazing facilities. Thank you to your very friendly and helpful staff. We as a club appreciate it a lot.”

Zane Formo finished in fourth place with a 2,33kg catch.

“The fishing was good, and a total of 71 fish were weighed in.”

The club congratulates Theo Jordaan on winning the competition, with the biggest bass caught on Saturday weighing in at just over three kilograms.
