Parkrunners get out and about at the Ladysmith Country Club
Many a parkrunner is known to hang around at the club afterwards, to mingle over a refreshing beverage or two and possibly even discuss the ins and outs of the following week’s strategy out on the route

Young and old, as usual, attended the parkrun on Saturday morning at Ladysmith Country Club. 106 athletes of varying levels of competence, turned up for this past weekend’s run, jog, brisk walk or sedate stroll. Parkrun is a free, five kilometre timed run/walk, which takes place around the world at 8am on Saturdays.
It is not uncommon for over a hundred people to get together and enjoy the crisp, fresh morning air, no matter what the weather’s like. Mothers bring along their children and pet owners bring along their dogs for some good exercise and socialising.

But back to the event itself – at the finish line, each runner is applauded for their early-morning workout. Once the run is out of the way, the weekend can begin in earnest, with the satisfying knowledge that health and fitness have received top priority.
