Estcourt Golf Club raised R10 000 for the Cancer Association of South Africa

A fantastic day of golf started on Saturday with excellent weather and a nice field of golfers and no less than seven ladies participating.

With the efforts of Deejay Ramdhav who is the League Captain and now full-time Competition Secretary and Office Secretary Seema Nandkissor, they managed to raise, with the golfers and sponsors as well as the auction, an amount of over R10 000.

The B division was won by Sam Sewsunker on 39 points followed by Sondlo Mlotshwa and third Deejay Ramdhav. The C division was won by Harry Kooverjee on 36 points followed by Nkosi Khuzwayo and third Willem Erasmus.

The ladies B division was won by Gail Boettiger on 37 points and C division winner was Laura Erasmus on 36 followed by Gina Hamman and Charlene Vlok. Closest to the pins were Melton Schiever, Sam Sewsunker, Arnold Fortmann and Gordon Chotu.

The auction of the set of books worth over R3 000 went to Arnold Fortman and Shane Mothilal.
The painted ostrich egg was bought by Arnold Fortmann and Tuppy. The raffle winner went to Sam Sewsunker (again) who will go through to the national draw and if he lucky again will have an Ernie Ells experience at Oubaai Golf Resort all expenses paid.

The Estcourt Golf Club thanks all sponsors who contributed to the worthy cause, which resulted in the highest ever amount raised for cancer (too many to mention).
The club also thanks Alicia Dreyer of Sanlam who did a lot of hard work in the background. All in all, a great day of golf and camaraderie was enjoyed by all.
