Young wrestlers show ‘no mercy’ at tournament
Children grappled on the mat, each determined to pass the test of endurance, and there were plenty of smiles, laughter and even some tears.
Vryheid Amateur Wrestling Club hosted a friendly tournament on June 8 at New Republic School (NRS).
Wrestling clubs from Newcastle, Volksrust, Glencoe, Dundee, and as far afield as Richards Bay, were invited to attend and compete in the Orange Grove No Mercy Legends Cup.
The main hall at NRS was filled with the cheers of parents, coaches and spectators.

At the end of the tournament, each wrestler received a trophy and all were declared winners.
Vryheid Amateur Wrestling Club thanks all the sponsors and contributors to the success of the tournament.
Anyone interested in wrestling is invited to join the club on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5.30pm to 7pm at NRS.
