Vryheid cyclists scale to greater heights

Despite being a tough race with many climbs, the challenge and the beautiful scenery along the route make this one of the favourites on the cycling calendar.

The Imvelo MTB Classic took place on June 8, at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland.

Local cyclist, Klaas Meintjies was third overall in the 64 kilometre race, with Vlam de Beer close behind.
Zauco van der Berg finished third in the Masters division and Sandra Haywood won the 64km race for the seventh year in a row.

Andrea de Beer was first in her category on the 37km. Despite having difficulties on the 64km route, Leon and Mariska de Villiers are looking forward to the 2020 Imvelo MTB Classic.

Congratulations to Hannes van Staden on finishing his first race.

“Thanks for a great weekend,” said club representatives.
