Merry ‘meating’ for competition club bowlers

A pleasant afternoon’s bowling was had, with a bonus of prizes at the end of play, thanks to the generous sponsors.

Early August winds did not deter a merry group of bowlers, who reported for play on Saturday afternoon.

They went all out to win the meat prizes on hand, in the monthly FedAuto tabs in meat competition.

At the end of play, only one team had scored the maximum of 10 points to be declared the winner: Douglas and Michelle Steele, Ernie Phillips and Johan le Roux (10 + 9).

Taking home a chicken each was the second place team: John Douthwaite, Gordon Dowsett, Piet Reynecke and Lindsay Steele (8 + 16).
