Seniors get serious at bowls competition

Dundee Bowls Club hosted its Senior Singles competition at the weekend. Mother Nature was kind to the bowlers, with no frost experienced on Saturday or Sunday morning, as well as the blessing of beautiful sunny days.
In the ladies’ section, a total of 4 women entered into the round robin format competition. At the end of the day’s play on Saturday, Sylvia Malan reigned victorious with the maximum points and the title. Dora Joubert was the runner up.
A total of 9 men entered the men’s competition, and were divided into 3 sections. At the end of the day’s play on Saturday, Dirk, Dougie and Rob found themselves in Sunday’s playoff. Dirk played excellent bowls, beating both Dougie and Rob and earning himself the trophy and the title of Senior Singles Champion.
