Runners line up for the ‘most beautiful race’

Estcourt runners travelled to Durban to be part of this popular race

Ladies excitedly boarded a bus making its way to Durban on Saturday, as the Department of Sport & Recreation transported runners from Estcourt and Ladysmith ahead of the Spar Women’s Challenge.

Chairperson of athletes in the district Sibusiso Nyamane was seen marking names off a register when the bus stopped in Harding Street.

Participants could enter the 5km or 10km race, which kicked off this past Sunday at Jonsson Kinds Park.

Thulle Daki was part of the Spar Women’s Challenge.

One of the runners was Estcourt’s Thulle Daki, who described the race as a “beautiful road race where we all received medals”.
