A racing pigeon is tagged, during the basketing before a race.

Curry and rice warmed pigeon fanciers on Saturday.
The club thanks Piet Senekal for the meal, and said it was ‘just what was needed with the cold weather and those long flights’.
With the flights getting longer, it is taking longer to fill the board – Marble Hall took over three hours and the board still wasn’t filled.
“I think the men’s nerves must be shot by the time they clock out,” commented club management.
