Newcastle Bowling Club hosted its Club Nominated Mixed Pairs competition at the weekend, with a pleasing entry of 11 teams.
Divided into two sections, Section 1 was won by Stephen and Samantha Shaw, with the evergreen Ron and Alice Howe winning Section 2.
After an intriguing final, Ron and Alice ran out winners for the umpteenth time.

The Fedauto Business League is well underway, with players enjoying their Thursday evenings.
Despite a brief rain interruption last week, both rounds were completed and a number of teams are still in contention.
The Northerns Mixed Pairs competition will be played in Dundee this weekend, with a number of Newcastle teams competing – good bowling, all.
