Newcastle karateka to fight hard for top honours
The Northern KZN JKA Championships will take place on March 7 in Newcastle.
In only a few days, the Northern KwaZulu-Natal JKA Championships will take place at the Farmer’s Hall.
Local senior karateka have been training long and hard leading up to the championships, which begins at 9am on March 7.
“Sensei Ilan Bernstein, 6th Dan and the NKZN JKA Tournament Auditor from SA JKA, will be overseeing the tournament and will address all senior officials (on Friday) working at the championships, to ensure everything is run smoothly and according to the SA JKA syllabus,” confirmed Sensei Johan Swart.

A total of nine affiliated clubs will be entering, including with 70 competitors from Newcastle, all hopeful for a place in the top four contenders.
“Good luck to all these participants!” concluded Sensei Swart.
