First win for Ndwandwe at parkrun
Asanda Ndwandwe secures first parkrun win, setting a new personal best.
The smile said it all as Asanda Ndwandwe claimed his first-ever top spot at the Vryheid parkrun this weekend, smashing his personal best time in the process.
Ndwandwe claims maiden victory
A regular top-five finisher, Ndwandwe delivered an outstanding performance to secure his maiden victory.
Ndlovu continues winning form
Ntando Ndlovu was the first female finisher, making it two consecutive wins with another impressive run.
Personal bests and new faces
The event welcomed three first-timers, while ten participants recorded personal bests. Congratulations go to Asanda, Zakhele, Louise, Zar, Sphindile, Simukelisiwe, Johanné, Elisma, Nompilo and Andiswa.
Milestone achievement celebrated
Beverley Conibear also celebrated a milestone, completing her 50th parkrun.
Community spirit on display
Beyond the results, the event once again highlighted the strong sense of community that defines Vryheid parkrun. From Ntando outrunning her mentor Sabelo, to Charl pacing his wife Louise to a personal best, and three generations of the Johann family taking part together, the morning was filled with memorable moments. Friends Alta and Thembi crossing the finish line side by side added to the spirit of camaraderie.
For many, parkrun is about more than just competition, it is about community, connection and shared experiences.
