Young pupils make waves in the pool

Monument, Egerton and Hamilton took part in the gala, with the competitive swimmers all battling it out for podium-place finishes and setting the best times possible.

Swimming trials for primary schools took place at the Town Pool on Thursday morning.
From around 8am, swimmers from various schools, as well as their parents, started gathering and gearing up for the action that lay ahead.
Monument, Egerton and Hamilton took part in the gala, with the competitive swimmers all battling it out for podium-place finishes and setting the best times possible.
All the while, parents and teachers cheered them on. Some swam incredibly fast, while others couldn’t quite keep up with the pace, but did their best nonetheless.
All age groups took part in the gala, swimming everything from freestyle to backstroke and breaststroke, and acquitted themselves well.
