Sarel’s sport teams show plenty of self-belief
Sarel Cilliers travel to Ladysmith High School for the start of the NKZN schools rugby league. All of the teams played exceptionally well and built a solid foundation for the rest of the season.

Sarel Cilliers o/14 en o/15 rugby het op toer gegaan na Volksrust tydens die Maart vakansie. Na harde werk tydens die voor-seisoen was die seuns op goeie dreef en vol selfvertroue.
Die o/14 span het 1 wedstryd uit 3 gewen met tellings wat enige kant toe kon swaai, en die wedstryd van die week teen Ligbron van Ermelo wen Sarel Cilliers 15-10 na rotsvaste verdediging.
Die o/15 span het met n massiewe wedstryd teen Hugenote van Johannesburg begin en ongelukkig verloor, maar het terug geveg met die volgende wedstryde en albei gewen, met die grootste wen teen Affies Pretoria met ‘n telling van 27-24.
Theuns van Zyl is aangewys as die o/14 voorspeler van die week. Sarel Cilliers is ongelooflik trots op hierdie seuns en wens hulle alles van die beste toe vir ‘n opwindende seisoen wat voorlê in die tweede kwartaal.
Sport against Ladysmith

Rugby scores: The u14B team lost 15-7, U14A team won 47-0, U15 team won 34-5, U16 team lost 23-7, and the second team won 45-0.
The first team started their match with serious intent and within a matter of seconds crossed over the try line for the first score of the game. The never surrender attitude of Sarel boys ultimately came through and the final score ended up 64-5. Congratulations to all of the boys who fought hard on the field and had excellent behaviour off the field.
Hockey scores: The u/14 hockey team lost 3-2 and the first hockey team won 3-1.
Netball scores: The u/14A lost 3-16, u/14B won 5-3, u/15A won 8-2, u/15B lost 8-2, u/16A lost 4-7, u/16B list 4-18, the second team lost 7-14 and the first team lost 26-30.
Chess
The chess team played against Ladysmith High School on April 9. In the beginning it did not look good: our team could only win one of the five matches that were played so far. Sarel clawed back to take two of the remaining three matches. The team showed good character to come from 1-4 down, to almost drawing the day.
Some of the games were tense and nearly went on for an hour. Both teams showed good professional character throughout the matches. S Tooray won, S Msane lost, N Ndala won, N Buthelezi won, Z Buthelezi lost, T Jaji lost, A Madawaenda lost and L Mlambo lost.
