Sarel rugby boys dig deep to beat Ferrum

Ferrum really gave the hockey girls a run for their money.

On Saturday, May 20, Sarel Cilliers faced Ferrum for their annual league games. It was a beautiful sunny morning when Ferrum arrived in Glencoe and the teams knew they would have their work cut out for them.
Rugby
After the highs of last week’s victories over Pionier, the boys were strong and committed to play hard physical rugby.
Although most of the games were a tight affair, Sarel Cilliers managed to win all their rugby matches except one.
Scores were as follows: u/14 lost 26-7, u/15 won 17-10, u/16 won 18-12, the second team won 31-3 and the first team, who really had to dig deep, managed to comprehensively beat their counterparts by 26-20. Well done!
Netball and Hockey
Ferrum really gave the hockey girls a run for their money.
The u/14 team bravely fought with all their might, despite not having a goalie, but lost.
The school still appreciates their spirit for not pulling out of the match and trying their best. Thank you to Mr Pinder for doing such a sterling job as a referee.
Chess
Sarel Cilliers’ chess team played against the winners of the PUK 16. The players excelled and won four of the 10 games against worthy opponents. The following boys won: L Xaba, J Potgieter, Z Buthelezi, and N Neerahoo. Congratulations!
ATKV Redenaars
Baie geluk, Janz. Jou potensiaal sal ontwikkel word!
