Aspiring little cricketers score at Mini-Cricket Tournament

The children were also coached to help improve their skills

Eight schools played in Drakensview’s first annual Mini-Cricket Tournament at the school on Saturday.
In glorious sun the field was full of teams playing their best.

While playing, the children were also coached to help improve their skills. Four age groups were catered for – under seven, eight, nine and 10.

Mercia Baatjies, the KwaZulu-Natal Mini-Cricket Co-ordinator from KZN Cricket Inland in Pietermaritzburg brought KFC sponsored bibs and equipment for each participating team to take back to their school.

Mrs Baajties is passionate about the development of mini-cricket in all schools. After playing every child was given a tasty lunch sponsored by Macksons Foodzone.

Parents and visitors to the school were served delicious refreshments sponsored by Averil Juan. Everyone on Saturday was a winner.
