Girls get passionate about soccer at Ladysmith Secondary School

The number of girls participating in soccer at Lasec is gradually increasing

Ladysmith Secondary School (Lasec) opened the month of March with their ‘Passionate Soccer Girls Inter-Class Tournament’, which was held on Friday (March 1).

The opening match was between Grade 11A and 10D.

According to Mr S Maphalala (sports coach and physical education educator), “The aim of these sporting programmes is to help our learners at Lasec enjoy the benefits of sport, while maintaining responsible behaviour which will promote exhilarating academic results.” Mr Mapahalala added that the number of girls participating in soccer is gradually increasing and hopes that next year, many other students will get involved in this sport.

Mr Mlambo (head of sport) and Mr Maphalala praised the remarkable dedication and commitment of those who participate in these extracurricular activities while also upholding the reputation of the school as a whole.

A humble appeal is made to any interested persons or businesses to make a contribution or sponsor much-needed equipment / kits for the following sporting codes: rugby, netball, volleyball, chess and cricket.
