Seven things to do this December
Stay home this December and explore your province.
Traveling over the festive season is not just dangerous it’s also expensive. So why not support your province and stay in the province. On our list of things to do:
1. Estcourt Hospice tree of lights which will take place on December 6 starting at 6.30pm for 7pm. If you’re planning on attending and want to buy a light in memory of loved ones or as a greeting to loved ones you can pop in at the Estcourt Hospice office. Or call Ruth on 036 352 5634.
2. Snip’s bird park in Newcastle will be having a Christmas market on December 7. Stalls will be available at R50. If you’re interested in selling or marketing your products, make sure to book a stall, otherwise come and enjoy the day. As an added bonus SANBS will be collecting blood on the day. 3. Also on December 7, there will be a Farmers’ market at Lennox farm from 9am until 3pm. Contact Dirk Froneman on 082 570 8885 for more info.
4. The seventh is going to be a busy day! There will be an arts and crafts market at the Village Gossip in Vryheid starting at 9am to 2pm. Please remember if you are a crafter to bring your own table and chairs. For more information, call Sherlene Gericke on 073 258 1625.
5. Moving on to December 8. The annual service of nine lessons and carols will take place at St James’ Anglican Church in Dundee starting at 6pm. This is a combined service, with many Dundee churches taking part.
6. Another event for December 8. A camp will be hosted at the Sathya Sai School in Newcastle from 12 noon to 3pm. For more information, contact Mona Maharaj on 064 312 4362 or 073 756 2480.
