Things only real life can teach you

There are reasons it is called 'the school of life'.

Life is a myriad of lessons people can often only discover through their own experiences.

Small wonder it has been dubbed ‘the school called life’.

Whether or not one has completed the full spectrum of pre-primary, primary and high school years, the consensus is there are certain things only life can teach us.

Here are a few of the most important of these lessons:

  • Mistakes are part of the learning curve
  • Understanding how to do something the correct way is not always possible without first knowing what NOT to do, gaining experience from failing the first few times.
  • There is little in this world one can honestly say is perfect.
  • Instead of fretting about what you have not done right, focus on those parts of your life/career/existence which have worked out, and be grateful for the opportunity to know better next time.

How to bank your money

Matters relating to personal finance are not really relevant to school pupils –right?

Wrong – some of the most successful people explain that from a young age, they began putting small amounts of money away and eventually reaped massive rewards.

In today’s age, that could be all the difference.

Life is not fair

It simply isn’t – the good does not always triumph over evil, bad things happen to every person no matter their alignment, and perfect moments in life are sometimes followed by negative times.

Cynical, maybe – accurate, most definitely.

The skinny on friendship

People grow up believing their best friend will be their close confidante forever.

Life is all about moving with the changes, and sometimes this means losing touch with a friend to the point of ending the connection, but it can also be the very reason friends never part.

In some ways, it is the memories of a better time that keep a friendship bond strong.
