Local primary school teacher scoops up another award

Local primary school teacher Mr R Behareelall has done it again, scooping yet another award for teaching excellence.
At the Provincial Teaching Awards function held by the KZN Department of Education on Tuesday, March 18, Mr Behareelall from ML Sultan Primary School was placed second in the ‘Excellence in Technology Enhanced Teaching & Learning’ category. It’s is not the first time he has won this award. He won it last year in the same category, but at district level. This year, he upped his game by progressing to provincial level and coming second.
Honourable member of the Executive Council for Education Mrs NP Mkonyeni graced the annual function with her presence. The National Teaching Awards (NTA) is a programme aimed at acknowledging, recognising, rewarding and saluting creative and dedicated teachers for their extraordinary efforts, often achieved under very difficult conditions, in service to children, schools and communities. Mr Behareelall is a hardworking member of the community, whose dedication and commitment is evident in his efforts to help students, as well as other teachers. “I am excited about the award and will continue to work hard,” says this proud yet humble teacher.
