Car show gets motors running

The Vryheid Vintage Car Club will host its annual car show on June 14 this year.

Considered the largest vintage car show in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, having exhibited more than 280 vehicles last year, the car show aims to showcase heritage vehicles to the public, especially today’s youth.

The car show takes place at the Lucas Meyer School rugby field (corner of High Street and South Street).

All vintage and classic car, hot rod and motorcycle clubs, owners of vintage tractors and implements and stationary engines are invited to display their machines, and new car and motorcycle dealers are welcome to set up displays of their latest models.

Showing off the history of the vehicle (before and after photographs) is also permitted.

Gates open from 7.30am and there will be a spitbraai, tea and coffee for sale, various food stalls, a jumping castle and lucky ticket draws, with a donation to be made to Hospice and the Old Age Home.
