Jeffrey pops the question on stage

Life took a very unexpected turn for Rachelé Senekal during the Snotkop concert at the Vodacom Newcastle Winter Festival on Friday night.

Ms Senekal, who also sings part time, was under the impression she would be singing, and realised what was happening the moment her partner, Jeffrey Noble walked up on stage wearing a suit.

The couple met a year ago through a mutual friend. Mr Noble had been planning the surprise proposal since Wednesday last week, and asked her parents for permission before dropping to one knee on stage.

“It took my breath away when I realised what was going on,” said Ms Senekal. “For him to go up there in front of all those people and to show that he really loves me was very brave.”
