The long and short of handwriting

There is a treasure trove of information stored in the facets that make each person unique.

It is in handwriting where the most characteristics are said to be revealed – a number of studies have determined there are thousands of personality traits unearthed in the words penned by each person.

Clues shown by handwriting are said to include:

* The size of the letters one writes could indicate their nature – smaller letters signify withdrawn and meticulous characteristics, average letters an adaptable person who values individual time, and larger letters suggest an extrovert.

* A wide space between words shows a person enjoys being liberated and not crowded, while narrow spacings indicate a more social and irritable person.

* Dotting your i’s also suggests different things – dots right over the i show organisation and attention to detail, circled i’s tend to reveal a visionary and dots ahead of the i indicate procrastination.

* What about crossing your t’s? Longer crosses reveal a person is determined, enthusiastic and stubborn; crosses in the middle indicate self confidence; short crosses show laziness and little determination.

* Rounded letters tend to indicate a creative and artistic soul, while pointed letters indicate an intense, intelligent and curious person. Letters that link reveal logic, systematic thinking and careful decision making.

* The pressure one writes with might unearth aggression and intensity (heavy), or a more laid back attitude (light).

*A legible signature indicates confidence and integrity, while ineligible signatures show a private person who is sometimes hard to understand.
