Nikole Naidoo and her passion for dancing

While she is mostly familiar with Bollywood style dancing, Nikole said as a child she loved all forms of dancing. As her love for music grew, so did her passion for dancing.

For some, dancing is a way of life. It allows them to escape the monotony of life through the sway and rhythm of the music.

It opens doors to a world where anything is possible. For Nikole Naidoo, dancing is more than a mere hobby. It is her life.

While she is mostly familiar with Bollywood style dancing, Nikole said as a child she loved all forms of dancing. As her love for music grew, so did her passion for dancing.

“I started dancing at the age of six. Now 17 years later, I am still dancing and have taken it up as a part time career,” said Nikole.

Describing dancing as a great stress reliever, Nikole has not kept her talent for herself and has been sharing it with members of the community at the Ward 3 War Room.

“I love teaching others and sharing my love of dance with them,” she said.

As of June, Nikole will be starting a dance school where she hopes to not only teach others how to lose themselves to the music, but also to embrace their heritage.

“Dancing is a very important part of my culture, but a lot of the youth have lost that part of their culture, which is one of the reasons I am starting the school,” claimed Nikole.
