Music and comedy with the Gee Jays

The entertainment on offer was refreshing and light-hearted, offering an earthy humour that makes these guys real 'South African boykies' in every way

The trio of hilarious musical performers known as the Gee Jays were in town over the weekend to perform their ever-popular ‘Snippets’ show at the Ladysmith Country Club on Friday night.

Starting at 8pm, the show was not for the faint-hearted, as the majority of guests will have experienced slight pain in their cheeks and tummy muscles from all the raucous laughing. What better way to spend a cold winter’s night than among fellow revelers who love music and comedy as much as you do!

The entertainment on offer was refreshing and light-hearted, offering an earthy humour that makes these guys real ‘South African boykies’ in every way.

The Gee Jays have been performing their brand of down-to-earth, no-nonsense, musical comedy for over 25 years, and they are still as popular as ever.

On the night, they showcased their usual variety of fun, with non-stop cheesy puns and naughty jokes that had the audience in stitches, along with a wide variety of good music in the form of the old classics. They performed songs such as ‘Heartache Tonight’ by the Eagles, ‘Another Saturday night’ by Cat Stevens, ‘She’s a lady’ by Tom Jones and ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight’ by Elvis Presley, among others. Drinks flowed and the feeling of camaraderie carried on after the show, with people staying at the club to mingle and do some socialising.
