A woman's handbag has always been an object of mysterious depths...we delved into handbags in our office to see what we could find.
Last week, we conducted a quick survey into the contents of handbags in the office. What were we looking for? The things that we thought to be out of place.
Gentlemen, hold on to your hats, this list is going to get rather strange…
10. Wet wipes
Every single handbag contained at least one wet wipe, mostly those given with takeaways. Apparently, wet wipes are quite useful.
9. Pharmaceuticals
If all the pills were piled up, one could easily stock a small pharmacy. Headache tablets, allergy tablets and antibiotics were in stock, for those unexpected medical emergencies.
8. Cables
In a digital world, one can never have enough cables. Point proven, as 8 out of ten handbags contained a cable for some form of gadget or phone.
7. Torch
Just in case you ever need to pursue a criminal into a dark alleyway, or you come home late and forgot to leave the porch light on.
6. Dead batteries
Old batteries, long past their sell by date. They were taken to ensure the right sizes of replacement batteries were bought, and they never left.
5. Scorpion spotlight
This little gadget is, for lack of a better explanation, a UV torch that makes scorpions glow when the light falls on them, handy for those quick nature excursions.
4. Toothpaste
Two out of ten handbags contained toothpaste, but no toothbrush. Forgot to brush your teeth this morning? Don’t worry. Somewhere in the office a handbag will provide a minty solution.
3. Casino chip
Don’t like to carry cash? Here is a nifty way to keep some back up money for those unplanned expenses. Casino’s keep a record of who cashes out chips and who cashes them in, so if your handbag is ever stolen, police can track down the culprits easily.
2. High-heel-shoe-shaped manicure set
For all your nail emergencies, this manicure set contains the goods to sort out a hangnail. It also doubles as a shoe. Not really, it just looks like one.
1. Pot lid handle
The number one weirdest thing we found in a handbag, was the handle for a pot lid. Apparently, it was supposed to be fixed, and never left the handbag.
