More than Merridy bargained for

Merridy Calitz celebrated her 21st birthday at Eagle Peak Spur recently.

Once the staff concluded their customary ‘happy birthday’ chant and all eyes were on Merridy, she received one last gift.

It wasn’t just another birthday, it was D-day for her boyfriend, Danie Burger.

He went down on one knee and proposed to the girl of his dreams for the whole of Spur to see.

Applause rang from every corner of the room as an overwhelmed Merridy accepted his proposal.

The couple plan to tie the knot on February 21, 2015.
