Hotel offers top-class entertainment for Valentine’s
The management of the Crown Hotel have promised guests an evening to remember
Music and dance enthusiasts can brace themselves for an unforgettable evening of top-class music and entertainment when Durban band ‘The Tyles’ appears at the Crown Hotel on Valentine’s night (Saturday, February 14).
Ladysmith is normally starved of events with high-quality entertainment that provide opportunities for the public to actively participate.
The Tyles recently appeared at the Battle of the Bands at the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya, where they performed for sold-out audiences for three nights.
The Tyles are a versatile group who play both Western and Eastern music, and are especially popular for their rendition of a variety of dance music genres that keep enthusiasts singing and dancing the night away. They have performed at many venues and events, including the Ballito Jazz Festival and a jam session with American jazz and blues legend Ronnie Jordan.
An unusual feature of the band is lead guitarist Saiyan Naidoo, who is only 10 years old and has been part of the band for three years. Among his favourite guitarists are Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and local favourites Jimmy Dludlu and Jonathan Butler. Saiyan’s ambition is to one day perform or jam with these world-famous musicians.
