Everyday is a special day and vegetarians also deserve a day.

Everyday is a special day and vegetarians also deserve a day.
Why you may ask?
Well, it is for a good cause of course. It brings awareness to the ethical, environmental, health and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle.
But first, a bit of history.
World Vegetarian Day is celebrated annually on October 1.
This day was established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977 and endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978.
“To promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism.”
World Vegetarian Day initiates the month of October as Vegetarian Awareness Month which wraps up on November 1 marked as World Vegan Day.
Vegetarian Awareness Month has been known variously as Reverence for Life month, Month of Vegetarian Food, and more.
So, what is the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan?
Vegetarians do not eat any animals at all for example fish, chicken, sheep and etc.
Vegans, on the other hand, are a much more stricter version of vegetarians. On top of not eating meat, they also do not eat any animal products or any products derived from animals.
Sounds tough huh?
Well, not for most. People from all walks of life have chosen this lifestyle. From the likes of Gandhi, Paul McCartney, Pythagoras, George Bernard Shaw, JM Coetzee, Bob Marley and Mark Zuckerberg.
