Local talent to perform at Wakkerstroom Music Festival

In less than two weeks time, the festival will breathe life into the town with its jam-packed line-up of events.

The annual Wakkerstroom Music Festival is finally here!

In less than two weeks time, the festival will breathe life into the town with its jam-packed line-up of events.

The festival will take place at several venues within the town itself from March 18 to March 21.

Through an eclectic mix of culture and music, the organisation aims to raise funds to enable promising music students further their studies.

Under the guidance and mentorship of local music teacher, Adrien Lubbe, two up-and-coming artists are scheduled to perform at the festival.

Tisha Willemse and Jabu Maseko will take to the stage on March 19 at 12pm, and again 7pm.

Tisha is an avid flute-player, who has made a name for herself by performing the following: Briccialdi’s, Carnival of Venice, Concerto in G, Rondo Allegro and Sentimentale composed by Claude Bolling.

Jabu Maseko will belt out An die Musik by Franz Schubert and Tu sul labbro de’veggenti from the opera, Nabucco composed by Guiseppi Verdi.

The aria, O Isis und Osiris from WA Mozart’s opera, Magic Flute, will ensure you always remember Jabu’s exceptional voice.

In addition, Mrs Lubbe will also perform the solo, 1 ere Valse by Auguste Durand, on the piano.

Don’t miss out on the event of the year!
