Embarking on a mission of love

The Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation is no stranger when it comes to rushing to help the less fortunate.

The Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation is no stranger when it comes to rushing to help the less fortunate.

Whether donating food to the destitute or assisting the underprivileged in creating vegetable gardens, the Tzu Chi Foundation is dedicated to creating a brighter future for all.

Last Sunday was no different, as people celebrated Mother’s Day.

While many spent the day spoiling their mothers, Tzu Chi celebrated Buddha Day, Global Tzu Chi Day and Mother’s Day all in one.

In honour of the auspicious occasion, members of the local Tzu Chi spent some time with the residents of Nil Desperandum.

They also donated a lounge suite to the home.

“We heard the home needed a lounge suite and we decided to give them one as everyone needs to sit in comfort. We also brought them cake, so they could also be spoiled for Mother’s Day,” said Lindy Jang of Tzu Chi.

She said the foundation also educated the residents on the Buddhist belief system as part of the Buddha Day celebrations.
