The Volksrust Camera Club meets once a month at a new venue each time.

SHrooms seminars, Want to know more about mushrooms?
SHrooms will host several one-day seminars in Newcastle on the following dates:
– August 19
– August 20
– September 16
– September 17.
Some of the topics discussed will include the growing of mushrooms, irrigation, ventilation and harvesting, to name a few. Interested parties are requested to book four weeks in advance for subsequent seminars. Seminars are offered in groups of six (minimum). Training will commence at 9am and conclude at 3pm. August 21 – The Shree Sanathan Dharma Purohit Mandal of Newcastle will host its 16th annual Maha Yagna Pooja for rain, grain, peace, prosperity and unity on the corner of Dixon and St Thomas streets in Lennoxton. A peace walk will commence from the grounds at 7am sharp. The youth are encouraged to participate. Special blessings and prayers for students, including Saraswathie Pooja will be carried out by the priest. Pundits will recite 1 008 Mantras. Parsadh and lunch will be served. Any form of donation can be given to pundits, Ram, Suresh, Panday, Mohan Maharaj, Muggan Maharaj and Roshan Maharaj. Entrance is free. All are welcome to attend. <ct:Bold>Hinduism for children’s programme<ct:>
The Ramakrishna Newcastle Sub-Centre conducts the Hinduism for Children’s educational programme every Thursday, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at the centre. The programme encompasses pre-school to matric classes, whereby the different aspects of Hinduism, including Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita are discussed.
Transport will be provided for the children and light snacks are served. The sub centre encourages all parents to send their children to the classes regularly.

Members of the community are invited to attend satsang on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm. Ramayan recital classes are held every Sunday from 9am to 10.30am.
