Top space MMO goes FREE to PLAY

Eve Online now offers a F2P experience

Some call it a space opera, but with real people… What it is is unadulterated fun. Eve Online literally has hundreds of thousands of players worldwide and is now free to play.

Admittedly with a few limitations, but still a great game.

So what is Eve Online? Well, anything you want to make of it. If you want to be a cog in the machine, mining minerals and manufacturing for a mega-corp, that’s totally cool. You could manage an industrial ship that supplies capital ships anywhere in the game universe for anyone, or you could deal exclusively with large alliances… Everything is cool!

And if you want to be a con-artist, or run a space transport empire, that’s totally cool too.

And if violence is your deal, feel free to shoot anyone you wish – there will be consequences, some from the game itself and some from your players, both friend and foe.

You can simply be a member of a fleet in a large or small alliance or corporation, who just happens to be good at following the orders of a commander. You can also take the role of a rogue pirate who runs around picking off easy kill and dodging fleets hunting for you.

You can also infiltrate a corporation and murder or steal from everyone – either because someone paid you, or simply because you feel like it.

There is no fair play involved in Eve unless that is the way you want to play. You will find players like yourself.

There are several South African corporations flying around, most notably the Warp Core Stabilisers, a fully South African corporation. Finding them in the game is easy enough, if you want a truly South African flavour to your game where Afrikaans is considered a natural in-game language…

Each ship, each red dot on the screen is an actual player... It's like nothing you have ever played

Consider it one massive role-playing game without the NPC content, unless all you want is NPC content, because Eve has that in spades too!

Now this is not a game for the kids and there is a reason for the age restriction. People swear, lie, cheat and steal. The game is not about moral virtue, but a blunt sandbox universe where literally anything goes.

The learning curve for the game is steep, make no mistake. That is why the introduction of the Alpha clones has reinvigorated the game.

No need to spend a cent and you can try it as long as you like. Yes, they may limit the ships you can fly, but the basic game is all there. No grind, just train the skills and you can do nearly anything a subscription based player can do. Get your own Alpha clone and join the fun!
