Did you know cows kill more people than sharks do on an annual basis? If not, be sure to read these seven facts.
The world is an interesting place, with oddities around every corner, with most of the unusual created by mankind’s vivid imagination.
Here are seven interesting facts that sound almost to odd to be true.
1. Scotland’s national animal is a unicorn

Yes, you read that write. Scotland’s national animal is indeed an unicorn and has been so for a few hundred years, despite the fact that it is a mythical creature best suited for a fantasy novel.
2. France still used the guillotine when Star Wars: A New Hope was releasedÂ

The use of the guillotine was officially banned in France in 1981, when capital punishment was abolished. That is four years after Star Wars: A New Hope was released in 1977. But, in all fairness, the last beheading was done in 1977 and giving criminals a new hope of not losing their heads.
3. Stephen Hawking’s time traveling party

Stephen Hawking held an party on June 28, 2009. Although iced champagne and tasty hors d’oeuvers were available, no one pitched up. Surprised an open party hosted by Stephen Hawking was ignored? Apparently, he had the details published for the party a day after it was supposed to take place, so only time-travelers could attend.
4. Shakespeare, the man who named Jessica

William Shakespeare was a man of pure talent, a man whose genius has stood the test of time. In fact, the English language owes a lot to Shakespeare as he created words such as arch-enemy, assassin and even eyeball. But, the bard’s talent did not end with creating useful words for everyday usage, he even invented the name Jessica.
He made the name up in his play The Merchant of Venice in 1596.
5. Humpty Dumpty might not have been an egg

Nowhere in the nursery rhyme does it describe Humpty Dumpty being an egg, despite the first recorded version of the rhyme dating back to the 18th century. The question now, who was Humpty Dumpty if not an egg on a wall?
6. Who are the real berries?

Strawberries are not berries at all. In fact, watermelons, avocados, pumpkins and bananas are actually berries. My whole life has been a lie.
7. Fear the bovine

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and PreventionU.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cows kill up to 22 people annually, while sharks apparently kill only up to five people a year. I guess cheeseburgers do come at a cost.
